It is SO nice to work again. I know it’s totally lame, but I absolutely love my job at Baskin Robbins. I love my friends there. And I love some of the customers. And I love how easy and relatively simple it is.
At training these past two days in Davis, my new job at the arc just does not seem like it will compare… at all… The 4 students training us (all only like 2 years ahead of me in school) kept emphasizing how amazing it is that you can progress in this field. For example… you can eventually become an MSL or Building Sup or some other crap. It was just a nicer way of saying that we are the low of the low. At BR there’s no progression. We’re just all on the same level to start with and end with). And that’s where the respect is too. It’s all pretty equal respect. But at the Arc, all the MSL’s just think they’re way better than the newbies and they all take their jobs way too seriously. All we’re doing is swiping cards, loaning out towels, and cleaning sweat off of machines. So glamorous.
Plus, all the newbies hired with me seem so… typical. Literally, you could look at any one of them and be like “Yeah, they probably work at the Arc.” All the guys are those ones that are totally into themselves that, yeah, could be funny and nicee at times, but mostly are your typical, pretty full of themselves, guys. And the girls… They are all little annoying stuck up bitches. And some of the girls are so fucking excited for the job that I’m just like… wut… Legit, one girl I was talking to was like “I’m just so excited to put on my blue polo for the first time!” I was just like… wtf… I. just. cant.
Something I really value at BR is that everyone who works there is true to themselves. They are who they are. And it’s like a good mixture of all of our personalities. It’s what makes it. It just IS. And with so many people in this new job with such awful first impression personalities… I just don’t think it will even compare.
Lol, I’m SUPER excited for this next team bowling party though… hahaha
